Frequently Asked Questions

Why do brand blues betray a dying cyan before anything else on the page?

Blue on paper is cyan laid over magenta. As the cyan thins, the magenta underneath starts to dominate, and familiar blues bend toward purple and lose their depth. A logo you have printed a hundred times shows the shift before a photograph does, because you already know exactly what it should look like.

What does a graphics workload ask of the cyan cartridge?

Smoothness. Skies, water and graduated backgrounds are mostly cyan, and any unevenness in how the cartridge lays toner shows up as banding or thinning across those wide, quiet areas. A cartridge rated at 25,000 pages gives long, stable runs between swaps, which is what gradient-heavy work needs.

Which printers share this cartridge?

Every Phaser 7760 configuration: the Phaser 7760, the Phaser 7760DN and the Phaser 7760DX, together with the GX, YDN, YDX and YGX variants. This listing carries the YGX name; the 106R01160 inside is common to them all.

What does proofing cost in cyan per page?

Roughly 0.19 cents. The cartridge is $47.77 and rated to 25,000 pages at standard coverage, so even a generous round of color proofs spends its cyan in fractions of a cent per sheet — the paper on a tabloid proof costs more than the blue printed on it.

"Cartridges" in the title — should you expect more than one?

Expect one. A single 106R01160 cyan is what ships; the plural is house catalog wording found across the 7760 listings. Judged by its 25,000-page rating, a single cartridge is already the long-interval choice for most graphics benches.

What coverage does the price include?

A warranty of 1 year and free returns for one full year — the fine print lives on the shipping & returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses and answer Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST; more supplies for these printers are gathered on the Xerox supplies page.
