Frequently Asked Questions

My printer is badged 7760YDX. Does it take a special cartridge?

No special cartridge exists for it. The YDX suffix records how that machine was configured when it left the factory — its equipment package of feeders, finishing and networking — while the toner stayed constant across the whole platform. Your black slot loads the standard 106R01163, the same cartridge this listing sells, rated at up to 32,000 pages.

Why can I not find a "7760YDX cartridge" anywhere?

Because supplies for this platform are catalogued by the cartridge's own number, not by each printer badge. Xerox built one black cartridge — 106R01163 — for every 7760 build, so sellers list it once and let the number do the work. Searching by that number is how owners of the rarer badges find their toner.

How many pages does this cartridge print in a YDX?

The same rating as in any other build: up to 32,000 pages at 5 percent coverage, which at $42.79 comes to roughly 0.13 cents per page. Configuration letters do not touch the fill; heavy graphics coverage on a production machine is what shortens real-world life, whatever the badge.

Which other 7760 builds share this cartridge?

All of them. The Phaser 7760, the Phaser 7760DN and the Phaser 7760DX, plus the GX, YGX and YDN configurations. One black cartridge design covers the platform from the plainest build to the most heavily equipped.

The listing name says "Cartridges." Am I buying one or several?

One cartridge at $42.79 — the plural is a quirk of the listing titles in this family. Multi-cartridge options do exist: the 2, 3 and 5 packs of 106R01163, whose names state the genuine count and whose per-cartridge prices drop as the bundle grows.

What warranty and returns terms apply?

A one-year warranty with free returns for a full year; the shipping and returns page carries the details. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 7760YDX Black Cartridge

This listing exists for owners of the YDX build who search by their machine's full badge: the cartridge behind it is the platform-wide 106R01163, one black unit at $42.79 with a 32,000-page rating. The badge on your printer describes its hardware package — the toner never branched. The wider compatible range for the platform is on our Xerox toner page.
