Frequently Asked Questions

What is the case for buying black toner five cartridges at a time?

Volume and price, in that order. The Phaser 7100 is a workgroup machine, and a workgroup that prints all day can move through black cartridges quickly. This pack puts five 106R02605 cartridges — up to 5,000 pages each, 25,000 pages in total — on the shelf at once, so replacements come from your own stock cupboard instead of a courier's schedule.

Where does the 5 pack sit on the family's price ladder?

At the bottom, per cartridge. Singles cost $66.69 each; the pair works out at $57.45 a cartridge; the three pack at $54.37; this five pack at $51.90. Against five singles at $333.45, the pack's $259.51 saves you $73.94, and the running cost of a black page drops to about 1.04 cents — the lowest figure in the family.

What printing volume justifies a 25,000-page reserve?

Roughly, a machine or a set of machines clearing 2,000 black pages a month will work through this pack in about a year, which is a comfortable stock horizon. Far below that volume, the smaller packs are the better fit; far above it, the five pack becomes a quarterly routine. The honest test is your own meter readings over the last few months, not the size of your office.

Can one box serve several 7100 printers?

Yes — every variant in the family, the base 7100, the 7100N and the 7100DN, takes this same black cartridge, so a single stock box can feed a small fleet. That is where a five pack earns its keep in a multi-printer office: one part number to reorder, one shelf to check, and no machine-specific cartridges to mix up when someone restocks in a hurry.

How do I keep a stock box orderly?

Rotate it. When a new pack arrives, mark the date on the box, put it behind any cartridges already on the shelf, and always load the oldest sealed cartridge first. Keep the box flat, sealed and at room temperature away from heat sources. Five cartridges is a working stock, not a warehouse — treat it as a queue and it will empty in good order.

What warranty and returns cover does the pack carry?

Each cartridge is covered by our 1-year warranty with free returns for a full year, as detailed on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the family's supplies are listed on our Xerox toner page.
