Frequently Asked Questions

Six colour cartridges for a desktop-sized printer sounds like overkill — why does it make sense on this platform?

Because the colour cartridges here are compact 2,500-page units, and this printer stops colour work altogether the moment any single bay runs dry. A small team that prints colour every day can cycle through a bay in a matter of months, and each empty bay otherwise means the same little outage: a job paused, an order placed, a wait for the courier. Holding six cartridges in the cupboard turns that outage into a two-minute swap at the machine, and ordering goes back to being a calm, occasional errand instead of an emergency purchase made under deadline pressure.

What is inside this 6 Colour Set?

Six compatible cartridges that between them cover every colour bay of the machine. The cyan unit is the 106R01594, the magenta unit is the 106R01595 and the yellow unit is the 106R01596, and each one arrives individually sealed with its code printed on the label, ready to be matched to its bay when its turn comes. No black cartridge is bundled in — the black for this platform, code 106R01597, is stocked as a separate product.

How long will one cartridge out of this stock last in a small office?

The rating is 2,500 pages per cartridge, worked out on the standard test page with 5% of its area covered. Put into a working rhythm, that means an office turning out around 250 colour pages a month stretches one cartridge across roughly ten months, while a brisker pace of 600 colour pages a month gets through one in about four. What your pages actually carry decides where you land: a photograph or a solid colour background spends a multiple of the toner a plain text page uses, so design-heavy months eat into the rating faster.

When a bay does run dry, how do I make sure I fit the right spare from the shelf?

Read the bay name on the printer's supply screen, then match it against the code printed on the cartridge label rather than going by the colour of the box art: cyan takes the 106R01594, magenta takes the 106R01595 and yellow takes the 106R01596. Keeping the spares shelved in code order makes the match a five-second job, and because every unit is sealed until the moment it is fitted, a spare picked up months after delivery performs exactly like one fitted on day one.

Can one shelf stock feed the 6500N and the WorkCentre 6505 as well?

Yes. The Phaser 6500, the Phaser 6500N, the 6500DN and the WorkCentre 6505 multifunction model are all built around the same engine and take identical colour cartridges — what separates them is networking, duplexing and copy-scan hardware, never the toner. So the one shelf stock supplies whichever of those variants you happen to run, and reordering stays a single simple line on the order form.

If one cartridge out of the six turns out to be defective, what happens?

Cover applies to every cartridge individually. Each unit is protected by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a cartridge that streaks, leaks or stops working early is sent back by itself for a replacement or a refund while the remaining stock stays on your shelf. Parcels are dispatched from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is nearest to you, and you can reach our support team Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Delivery times, shipping costs and the returns procedure are all published on our shipping & returns page.

About This 6-Colour Set for the Phaser 6500

Six cartridges, three colours, one order: at $99.20 this set stocks the colour side of a Phaser 6500-platform machine well ahead of need. Inside are the cyan 106R01594, the magenta 106R01595 and the yellow 106R01596 in their high-yield 2,500-page versions, ready to be drawn down one bay at a time as the printer calls for them. It suits small offices whose colour printer cannot afford to sit idle while a courier makes its way to them. You will find the black cartridge and the rest of the platform's range in the full Xerox catalogue, and the 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns described above applies to every cartridge in this box.
