Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I buy two black cartridges at once?

Because the Phaser 6300 empties its black on its own schedule, usually mid-job. With the second cartridge already in the building, an empty one is a two-minute swap instead of an office paused while a delivery makes its way across town. The 2-pack is bought-down insurance against the most predictable interruption in office printing.

What does the pair cost me per cartridge?

The two cost $101.95 together — $50.98 per cartridge against $60.21 bought one at a time, so $18.47 stays in your pocket across the pair. Each cartridge is rated at up to 8,000 pages, giving up to 16,000 pages in the box and a cost of about 0.64 cents per rated page.

Is there a routine that makes the spare system work?

One simple discipline: the day the spare goes into the printer, order its replacement. That keeps exactly one cartridge in reserve at all times — never zero, never a stockpile. It turns toner from a recurring small emergency into a background errand that someone handles in a minute.

Will cartridge number two still be good months from now?

Yes. A cartridge kept sealed, flat, and in a cool dry place away from sunlight stores well for a long time; toner powder does not spoil on the shelf. When its turn finally comes, a few soft side-to-side rocks before fitting settle the contents that have been sitting still.

Are both cartridges really the same thing?

They are — two identical compatible black cartridges under the single part number 106R01085. No colour sneaks into the box and there is no mixture of yields; it is the printer's black, doubled. That sameness is the point: whichever box you open first, the printer gets exactly what it expects.

What cover do the two cartridges carry?

Each one stands behind a 1-year warranty with free returns for a full year; the full terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
