Frequently Asked Questions

There are five cartridges here — what is the fifth one for?

Think of it as a shelf spare drawn from the same four part numbers: 106R01395 (black), 106R01392 (cyan), 106R01393 (magenta) and 106R01394 (yellow). Four cartridges restock the printer today; the fifth waits in the cupboard so the next low-toner warning is answered from stock instead of with an urgent order.

Which color is the spare?

The set is assembled from the four numbers listed above without a fixed public breakdown, so the honest answer is: check the labels when the box arrives and note which position your spare covers. Many buyers then reorder a single cartridge of whichever color their printer consumes fastest, keeping the spare principle alive.

What page ratings do these cartridges carry?

The black 106R01395 is rated at up to 7,000 pages, while cyan 106R01392, magenta 106R01393 and yellow 106R01394 are each rated at up to 5,900 pages. Those ratings follow the standard ~5% coverage basis, so dense color documents will move the counters faster than plain text pages.

Does this set fit the duplex network model?

Yes — the cartridge family is shared across the Phaser 6280 line, including the Phaser 6280DN. Confirm by comparing the number on a cartridge you pull out with 106R01395, 106R01392, 106R01393 and 106R01394 before ordering.

How should I store the spare cartridge?

Keep it sealed in its original packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry cupboard out of direct sunlight and away from heaters. Toner cartridges tolerate shelf time well when left unopened; the thing to avoid is opening one "just to check," which starts its exposure to light and air.

What coverage backs this 5-pack?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns stand behind every set, with the full wording on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
