Frequently Asked Questions

Why would a small studio take six color cartridges in one box instead of topping up one at a time?

Because single top-ups put your print schedule at the mercy of delivery schedules. A studio that prints client work in color cannot pause a job while a cartridge is in transit, and colors never empty in a tidy rotation — the one you need is always the one that just ran out. Six cartridges on the shelf turn a toner swap into a two-minute interruption instead of a two-day wait, and the set price of $98.68 is settled once rather than chased across repeated small orders.

Which colors do the six cartridges cover?

The six cartridges span the three color bays of the printer: cyan is the 106R01278, magenta is the 106R01279 and yellow is the 106R01280. Every unit is labeled with its code and color, so check the label against the bay you are filling before you open it. Black is a different cartridge entirely and is not part of this set — if the black bay is running down as well, it needs its own separate order.

Does buying the colors together keep output consistent from one swap to the next?

It helps. Cartridges bought in one set come from the same production run, so the cyan you fit in March behaves like the cyan you fit in June — same toner formulation, same density, same color balance against its magenta and yellow partners. Studios that reprint standing work, like a client's brochure ordered every quarter, notice drift when cartridges come from unrelated batches bought months apart. A single set narrows that variable before it reaches the page.

What does the 1,900-page rating on each cartridge mean in a heavy color month?

The rating is measured on the industry test page at about 5% coverage, and each cartridge in this set — every 106R01278, 106R01279 and 106R01280 — carries that 1,900-page figure. A heavy month of proofs, comps and full-color pages runs well above 5% coverage, so a busy studio will see fewer pages per cartridge than the rating suggests, while a month of text documents with light color accents can land close to it. Judge your reorder point by your own page counts rather than the box number.

If we later swap the printer for the networked model, do the remaining cartridges still fit?

Yes. This set serves the Phaser 6130 and the Phaser 6130N alike — the N version changes how the machine connects and adds two-sided printing, but the toner bays and cartridge codes are unchanged. Stock bought for one is stock for the other, which is part of the point of holding six: none of the shelf inventory is stranded by a like-for-like printer change inside the same platform.

What cover applies across a six-cartridge purchase?

All six cartridges are individually backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — cover runs cartridge by cartridge, so a faulty unit goes back on its own without disturbing the rest of your stock. Orders are dispatched from the closest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Delivery terms and the returns process are spelled out on our shipping & returns page.

About This 6 Color Set for the Phaser 6130

At $98.68, this set puts six color cartridges for the Phaser 6130 platform on your shelf in one order: units spanning cyan 106R01278, magenta 106R01279 and yellow 106R01280, each rated at 1,900 pages. It is the stock-up option for color-heavy work — client proofs, repeat brochures, in-house marketing — where a dry bay costs more in lost days than the cartridges cost in dollars. Same-batch supply keeps color steady across swaps, sealed units keep their full rating in storage, and each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns. Black for this platform is sold separately, alongside the wider Xerox catalogue.
