Frequently Asked Questions
How fast does a busy workgroup get through two of these cartridges?
The pair holds about 28,800 rated pages. A workgroup printing 3,000 pages a month will open the second cartridge around month five and finish it near month ten; a heavier group at 5,000 pages a month cycles through the box in under six months. Both cartridges are the same high-yield 106R02738 unit, each rated at up to 14,400 pages.
What does this 2 pack do to the per-cartridge price?
At $58.63 for the box, each cartridge works out to $29.32 — $18.49 less across the pair than buying the two singly at $38.56. Toner cost per rated page falls to about 0.20 cents. The saving is in the buying, not the cartridge: the units inside are identical to the single listing's.
Who in the office should keep the spare, and where?
Whoever sits nearest the printer, ideally in the cupboard directly beside it. A spare stored down the hall tends to be forgotten until someone goes looking mid-crisis; a spare stored within arm's reach gets fitted in minutes. Keep it flat in its sealed box, away from heat and damp, and it waits patiently — toner powder does not go stale.
Does the X in my machine's name change which toner I buy?
It does not. The WorkCentre 3655X and the WorkCentre 3655 run on the same 106R02738 cartridge; the letters distinguish machine configurations, not supplies. This listing is named for the X, and the number on your old cartridge confirms the match either way.
When the first of the pair runs out, what is the routine?
Fit the spare, note the date, and order the next box the same week. That keeps exactly one spare in the cupboard at all times and spreads purchases across the year. Swapping itself takes minutes: cover open, old unit out, new unit in until it seats, cover closed.
What guarantee backs these two cartridges?
A one-year warranty on each, plus free returns for a full year — the terms are on the shipping and returns page. Parcels are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
