Frequently Asked Questions
What happens on swap day — how involved is fitting this cartridge?
It is a few minutes' work with no tools. Open the front cover of the machine, slide the spent cartridge out, unpack this one, remove its protective packaging and slide it in until it seats. The printer recognises the fresh 106R02738 and you are printing again. Most owners do it between other tasks, coffee still warm.
How do I confirm this is the right cartridge before I open the box?
Read the number on the cartridge you are replacing. If it says 106R02738, this single is its match. The machine badge helps too — this listing serves the WorkCentre 3655 and the WorkCentre 3655X — but the part number on the old unit is the check that cannot mislead you.
How many pages should I expect from it?
Up to 14,400 pages at the standard 5 percent coverage behind all yield ratings. At this listing's $38.56, toner runs at roughly 0.27 cents per page. Real life varies with what you print: pages of plain correspondence track close to the rating, while dense forms and graphics spend the fill faster.
Our office prints modestly. Is a high-yield cartridge overkill for us?
No — high yield only means the fill is generous, and toner keeps. A powder cartridge does not dry out while it works slowly, so a quiet office simply enjoys a long interval between changes: at 800 pages a month, this one cartridge can serve for well over a year.
Is there anything to do with the old cartridge when I swap?
Bag it so loose powder stays contained, and set it aside for your usual recycling route. Keep the new cartridge's packaging until you have printed a few pages and confirmed everything runs cleanly — after that, nothing about the swap needs a second thought.
If the cartridge misbehaves, what happens?
It is covered by a one-year warranty and free returns for a full year, with the procedure laid out on the shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
