Frequently Asked Questions
Could four cartridges really amount to a year's supply?
For many offices, yes. The box holds about 57,600 rated pages; divided across twelve months that is 4,800 pages a month, every month, before the shelf is empty. A department printing at that pace orders toner once a year. Lighter users stretch the same purchase further still — there is no penalty for the cartridges waiting their turn.
How does the cost break down at this quantity?
$98.75 for four cartridges is $24.69 per unit, against $38.56 bought one at a time — a total saving of $55.49, with toner at roughly 0.17 cents per rated page. Each unit is the full high-yield 106R02738 fill, rated up to 14,400 pages; bulk pricing changes the invoice, never the cartridge.
The 3655X is our hardest-worked machine. Will a stock of four keep up?
That is exactly the situation the pack is built for. A hard-worked machine empties a 14,400-page cartridge on a predictable rhythm, and four in reserve means the rhythm never collides with a delivery delay. Fit one, and three remain — enough buffer for the busiest quarter most offices see.
Any special storage needs when cartridges wait a year or more?
Nothing exotic: keep them sealed, flat, and in a room that stays comfortable for people — no radiators, no steamy store rooms, no direct sun. Toner is a dry powder and does not dry out, evaporate or expire in storage, so the last cartridge of the four prints like the first.
Our fleet is mixed — a 3655X here, a plain 3655 there. One stock for both?
Yes, and that is a quiet advantage of this family. Both the WorkCentre 3655X and the WorkCentre 3655 take the 106R02738, so a single shelf stock covers either machine. Whichever printer calls first gets the next cartridge.
What support comes with a year-sized purchase?
Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty and returns stay free for a full year; details are on the shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and the support desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
