Frequently Asked Questions

Five drums is a lot — what kind of setup actually uses them?

A fleet. Anywhere several of these printers and multifunction machines are spread across desks, classrooms or counters, drums wear out on several independent schedules at once. Five 101R00474 units hold 50,000 pages of imaging life in the cupboard, which for a multi-machine site is not hoarding — it is one shared spare pool that keeps every machine a five-minute fix away from being back in service.

How does the per-unit price compare with buying one at a time?

This pack is $90.46, so $18.09 per drum. Against the $32.88 single price, five singles would cost $164.40 — the pack saves $73.94, and imaging cost falls to about 0.18 cents per page. It is the same 101R00474 unit with the same 10,000-page rating in every box; the discount is purely for taking the fleet quantity in one order.

Why does drum stock matter more in a fleet than toner stock?

Because a drum failure cannot be scheduled around. Toner empties predictably and staff notice the low warnings; a worn drum announces itself as bad output on the day someone needs a clean print run. In a fleet, that day arrives several times a year across different machines. Holding the shared drum part centrally turns each incident into a swap, not a procurement exercise.

How should five light-sensitive units be kept?

Sealed, flat and out of bright light — drum surfaces degrade in strong light, so the packaging is part of the product until fitting day. Store the boxes in one known place, note the arrival date on each, and fit oldest first. A simple shelf label with the part number, 101R00474, saves whoever does the swap from opening the wrong box.

Which machines does this pack serve?

Every unit is the drum shared by the Phaser 3260 and the WorkCentre 3215 — a single part number covering both the desktop printer and the multifunction model, which is what makes a shared five-unit pool practical in the first place.

What warranty and delivery terms apply?

Each unit carries a one-year warranty and free returns for a year, per the shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. The rest of the range for this platform is listed on the Xerox toner page.
