Frequently Asked Questions
Why keep a second cartridge on the shelf at all?
Because on a shared department printer, the cost of an empty machine is never the toner — it is the queue of people standing around it. A two-pack puts one MLT-D309L in the ML-5510ND and its twin on the shelf, so the day the fitted cartridge fades, the fix takes minutes and no print job waits on a delivery. For a machine a whole floor depends on, that spare is not a luxury; it is the difference between a warning light and a stoppage.
What does the two-pack do to the numbers?
Two cartridges bought singly would cost $296.52; the pack is $281.11, so $15.41 stays in the budget, and each cartridge works out at $140.56 against $148.26 one at a time. The toner cost per page eases to about 0.47 cents across the pack's 60,000 rated pages. It is the smallest step up the quantity ladder — the saving is real but modest, and the pack's main purchase is continuity rather than discount.
When should we order the next two-pack?
When the shelf spare goes into the machine. That moment — a fresh cartridge fitted and the cupboard empty — is the natural reorder trigger: order then, and the replacement spare arrives while the fitted cartridge still has most of its 30,000 pages ahead of it. Ordering on the toner warning instead leaves the department one delivery delay away from running dry.
Which printers does this pack fit?
Both cartridges are the MLT-D309L high-yield supply listed for the Samsung ML-5510ND and the ML-5512ND. Since the two units are the same supply, the pack also suits an office running both models: the spare on the shelf fits whichever machine asks for it first, and no cartridge is ever stranded belonging to a printer you no longer use.
How should the spare be stored while it waits?
Sealed in its box, flat, in a dry cupboard at ordinary room temperature, away from direct heat. Kept that way, a toner cartridge waits patiently for months without any attention. Resist opening the spare to "check" it — the seal is what keeps the unit in factory condition, and it should only be broken at the moment of fitting.
What protection covers the two cartridges?
Each unit carries the same cover: a one-year warranty against defects, and free returns on the purchase for a full year, with the details on the shipping and returns page. The two cartridges are protected individually, so a fault in one is dealt with on its own merits while the other keeps printing. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
