Frequently Asked Questions

What does a year of ML-2855 printing look like when toner arrives five at a time?

For most offices, it looks like not thinking about toner. Five MLT-D209L cartridges hold 25,000 rated pages; an ML-2855 printing a few thousand pages a month — statement runs, dispatch paperwork, reports — can take the better part of a year to work through the box, with a spare always in hand when one cartridge gives out mid-run.

How far does the per-cartridge price fall in this pack?

To $22.79. Five singles would cost $187.90; the pack is $113.94, so $73.96 stays in the supplies budget, and the rated cost per page drops from roughly 0.75 cents to about 0.46 cents. It is the deepest per-cartridge price in this cartridge's ladder short of the ten-pack.

We run an ML-2855ND and two multifunctions as well — can they share this stock?

That is precisely the family this cartridge serves. The MLT-D209L fits the ML-2855ND, the SCX-4824FN and the SCX-4826FN alongside the ML-2855, so one five-pack on the shelf is a reserve for four different machines — usually the moment the pack pays for its shelf space.

How should five cartridges be stored across a long working life?

Flat, sealed and boring: a dry cupboard at room temperature, out of sunlight and away from heaters. Use them in arrival order. Dry toner has no drying-out failure mode, so the fifth cartridge prints like the first even if a year passes between them.

Is five too many if our ML-2855 turns out to be quieter than expected?

It is more than a light-duty printer needs soon, but nothing is wasted — sealed cartridges keep, and every one will eventually be spent if the machine stays in service. The honest trade is money parked in stock against the lowest page cost in the range; for a printer of uncertain pace, the three-pack is the gentler step.

What warranty stands behind a five-pack?

The same one-year warranty on every cartridge, with free returns for a year — set out on the shipping & returns page. A problem unit is dealt with individually; the rest of the pack is never dragged into it.
