Frequently Asked Questions
One cartridge covers printing, copying and faxing on our CLX-6220FX — how do we budget a single supply for three jobs?
By counting finished pages, not jobs. Every sheet the machine produces — a print from a PC, a copy from the glass, a fax rolling off the line — takes its black from the same CLT-K508S. Add the three streams together and compare with the 2,500-page rating: at a combined hundred pages a day you are looking at a cartridge roughly every five weeks, and the budget follows directly.
Do scans cost us any of this cartridge?
None. Scanning captures the page as an image using light; no toner is deposited, so a day spent digitising archives leaves the CLT-K508S exactly where it started. Of the machine's four functions, scanning is the only free one — printing, copying and fax output are all metered against the same 2,500 pages.
What is the per-page cost of black on this machine?
About 2.27 cents at the rated yield — $56.81 divided across 2,500 pages — and the figure holds whichever function produced the page, because the cartridge neither knows nor cares whether a sheet began as a print job or a copy. Heavy, dark originals raise the real cost per page; plain text sits right on the rating.
Which printers take the CLT-K508S?
Your CLX-6220FX is this listing's machine, and the listing data also names the Samsung CLP-620ND and CLP-670N for the same code. As ever, the cartridge already fitted is the authority: K508S on its label confirms that this box restocks your machine.
How will we know the cartridge is nearly done?
The CLX-6220FX will warn of low toner first; after that, the evidence moves to the page — blacks thinning, then banding or one-sided fade as the last toner distributes unevenly. Rocking the cartridge gently side to side can even things out briefly, but on a multi-function machine serving a whole office, the sensible move is to swap at the warning and keep the old unit's last pages out of client documents.
What protection does this purchase carry?
A full year's worth in both directions: a one-year warranty against defects in the cartridge, and free returns across the first year if it is not what you needed. Delivery and returns details are published on the shipping and returns page; orders ship from the nearest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and the support team keeps Monday to Friday hours, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
