Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is inside this CLX-6220FX set?
Four standard-capacity cartridges covering every color position of the machine: a CLT-K508S black rated at 2,500 pages, and the CLT-C508S cyan, CLT-M508S magenta and CLT-Y508S yellow rated at 2,000 pages each — 8,500 rated pages altogether, at $193.67 for the set, roughly $48.42 per cartridge.
Our machine faxes and copies at the front desk all day — which cartridges does that work touch?
Received faxes and copies are printed output, so they draw on the same four cartridges as ordinary printing; incoming faxes lean almost entirely on the black, while color copies spend all four. Scanning a document to email, in contrast, consumes nothing. On a fax-heavy desk, expect the CLT-K508S to set the reorder rhythm.
Does the whole set need fitting when only one color shows empty?
No. Each cartridge is independent: replace the empty color and carry on, leaving the remaining units from the box sealed until their own warnings appear. A shared machine is back in service after a single quick swap.
Is a spare set a sensible buy for a shared multifunction machine?
Generally, yes. With several users depending on one machine, an empty cartridge stops everyone's work, not just one person's; a complete set on site turns that into a two-minute fix. Stored sealed in a cool, dry spot, the spares keep until they are needed.
What does the set cost per page?
Roughly 2.3 cents a page — $193.67 across the 8,500 rated pages. Fax and text output at standard coverage tracks that figure closely; color copying is the main thing that pushes real-world cost above it.
What cover is included?
A one-year warranty on every cartridge and free returns within the first year. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, the support team works Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the complete terms are on our shipping & returns page.
About This CLX-6220FX Four-Color Set
This set is assembled for the CLX-6220FX multifunction printer and gathers the standard-yield CLT-508S family — CLT-K508S, CLT-C508S, CLT-M508S and CLT-Y508S — into a single $193.67 order. The same box also serves the CLP-620ND and CLP-670N printers, so one spare can cover a small mixed fleet. For a machine that other people's work depends on, that completeness is the point; the rest of the compatible range for the brand lives on our Samsung page.
