Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one 11,000-page cartridge actually last in our office?

It depends entirely on your monthly volume. At roughly 500 pages a month, a single Type 2120D cartridge covers close to 22 months of printing. At 1,500 pages a month, expect about seven months; a busy department pushing 3,000 pages a month will go through one in under four months. That works out to roughly 0.33¢ per page at the rated yield, which is why this cartridge stays popular with offices still running an Aficio 2020 or 2022 series machine.

Is it worth buying toner for a machine this old?

Usually, yes. The Aficio 2020/2022 series was built as a workgroup copier platform, and plenty of them are still running fine. A $36.26 cartridge that delivers around 11,000 pages is far cheaper than replacing the machine — as long as your copies are still coming out clean and the hardware itself is healthy, feeding it toner is the economical move.

Which printers does this cartridge work in?

This is the Type 2120D cartridge for the Ricoh Aficio 2020 and 2022 family of black-and-white copiers and multifunction machines. If your machine's supply label lists Type 2120D, this is the cartridge it takes. When in doubt, match the type number on your current cartridge rather than going by the machine's appearance, since several Aficio models look alike.

What happens if the cartridge arrives defective?

Every cartridge we sell is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. If a cartridge fails early, prints poorly from the first install, or arrives damaged, contact us and we will replace it or take it back under the terms on our shipping & returns page — you are not stuck with a bad unit.

How fast will my order get here?

Orders ship from whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, or California — puts the cartridge closest to you, so transit times stay short in most of the country. If you need help picking the right supply or checking an order, our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

How should I store the cartridge if I am not installing it right away?

Leave it sealed in its bag, flat, in a cool dry spot out of direct sunlight. Toner does not dry out the way ink does, so a sealed cartridge keeps well for a long time. Give it a gentle side-to-side rock before installing to redistribute the toner evenly, especially if it has been sitting for a while.

About This Ricoh Type 2120D Toner Cartridge

This compatible Type 2120D black toner cartridge is rated for up to 11,000 pages in the Ricoh Aficio 2020/2022 series of black-and-white copiers. At $36.26, it keeps an older workgroup machine printing at roughly a third of a cent per page, backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. It is the straightforward single-cartridge choice for offices that print steadily but do not burn through toner fast enough to justify a multi-pack.
