Frequently Asked Questions

When the first cartridge of this two-pack goes in, when should we reorder?

A simple rhythm works well: the day the second cartridge comes off the shelf and goes into the machine, place the next order. That way the shelf is never empty and the machine never sits idle waiting on a delivery. With 34,000 rated pages across the pair, most small offices get a comfortable buffer between orders.

What does the two-pack save over buying singles?

Two single cartridges cost $120.68; this two-pack is $102.18, a saving of $18.50. That brings each cartridge down to $51.09 and the toner cost to roughly 0.30 cents per page across the pair's 34,000 rated pages. The cartridges themselves are identical to the single — only the price per cartridge changes.

How should the spare cartridge be stored while it waits?

Keep it sealed in its bag, lying flat in a cool, dry cabinet away from radiators, windows and damp floors. Toner powder does not dry out like ink, so a sealed cartridge holds up well on the shelf. Rotate stock oldest-first if you keep more than one spare.

Is this two-pack tied to the MP C307 name in the listing?

No — the listing is titled for one model, but the 842091 black cartridge inside serves the whole Ricoh MP C306, MP C307 and MP C406 compact color MFP platform. Both cartridges in the pack fit any machine in that family, so a pack can also be split between two different models on the same platform if your office runs more than one.

Do copies and faxes draw from these cartridges too?

Yes. On this MFP, printing, copying and incoming faxes all pull from the same black cartridge; only scanning uses no toner at all. That is why copy-heavy offices see the cartridge finish sooner than the print count alone would suggest, and why a shelf spare earns its keep.

What if one cartridge in the pack turns out to be faulty?

Each cartridge is covered individually by our one-year warranty and one-year free returns, detailed on the shipping and returns page. A problem with one cartridge does not require sending back the whole pack. Reach us Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and we will sort it out.
