Frequently Asked Questions
How long will one cartridge last on a DSM415 in a small office?
The 841718 is rated at 7,000 pages at standard 5% coverage. A small office making a few hundred copies and prints a week will typically see a single cartridge run for many months before it needs changing. Dense originals — forms with heavy rules, flyers, solid graphics — pull the real total down, because they lay down more toner per page than the rating assumes.
Do copies use up toner the same way prints do?
Yes. On the DSM415, copying and printing draw on the same toner supply and the same drum, so a heavy copying week shortens the cartridge's calendar life just as a heavy printing week would. Scanning, by contrast, uses no toner at all. When you estimate how long a cartridge will last, count every page that comes out of the machine, whatever job produced it.
At $28.81 for 7,000 rated pages, the math lands at about 0.41 cents per page — low even by compatible-cartridge standards. On an older copier that has long since paid for itself, toner at that price is most of the running-cost story. It is a large part of why these small Aficio-class machines stay economical to keep in service.
What if the cartridge arrives faulty or prints poorly?
Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year as well — the details are on our shipping and returns page. If a cartridge underperforms, contact us and we will make it right with a replacement or a refund. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
How fast will my order get here?
We ship from four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so most orders travel a short distance. Delivery times depend on your location, but the multi-warehouse setup is there specifically to keep toner from crossing the whole country. Ordering before your current cartridge runs dry is still the safest plan.
