Frequently Asked Questions

Honest question: why does this cyan cartridge cost so much per page?

Because the yield is small and the printer family is a niche one. This cyan cartridge is rated for 2,000 pages and costs $91.99, which is about 4.6¢ per page. That is not a bargain page rate, and we will not dress it up as one. The value here is availability: keeping a Ricoh Aficio SP C220 working when the correct cyan supply is not easy to find.

When does buying it still make sense?

It makes sense when the printer is otherwise doing its job and the alternative is replacing a machine, reorganizing a small office setup, or leaving color work undone because one color is empty. For a lightly used printer that only needs cyan occasionally, a short-yield supply made for the machine can be more practical than changing the whole printing setup around one color.

Which printer is this cyan cartridge for?

This listing is for Ricoh Aficio SP C220. Confirm that exact model before ordering; the SP C220 family name on the printer matters more than the cartridge color alone.

How can I avoid wasting a 2,000-page cartridge?

Use color deliberately. Drafts, internal notes and plain text usually do not need full color, while customer-facing pages and charts are where cyan earns its keep. Also check a faded blue or green area with a small test print before assuming the cartridge is finished; a low warning and an empty cartridge are not always the same moment.

Can I replace cyan without changing the other colors?

Yes. This is a single cyan cartridge. Magenta, yellow and black are separate supplies, and black is sold separately. If only blues and greens have gone weak, there is no reason to retire other cartridges that are still producing acceptable output.

What backing do I get with a cartridge at this price?

The cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; the full terms are in the shipping and returns policy. That backing matters more on a high-cost, low-yield supply like this one, because the purchase should not become a gamble on top of an already steep page cost.
