Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a five-pack of a 2,000-page cartridge actually built for?
For setups where several C220-series machines share one supply shelf, or one machine prints black heavily every day. Five cartridges total 10,000 pages — at 800 pages a month that is about a year of black printing, bought in a single order. The economics are the strongest in this family: $256.51 for the pack is $51.30 per cartridge, $73.94 less than five singles. Honest limit: for one lightly used printer, five cartridges is more stock than you need, and a smaller pack is the smarter buy.
What does the bulk price do to the cost per page?
It improves it more than any other pack size here, and it still deserves a straight answer. A single cartridge works out to roughly 3.3 cents per page; at $51.30 per cartridge in this five-pack, the figure comes down to about 2.6 cents per page. Better — but this remains a low-yield cartridge family by design, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pretend a bulk pack turns it into a high-yield bargain. The saving is real ($73.94); the cartridge is still small.
Why does black stock matter so much for these color printers?
An empty black cartridge halts a C220-series machine completely — text documents are black-only work, and even color pages will not run until black is replaced. Across a small fleet, that means one forgotten cartridge can idle a printer at the worst moment. A shared five-pack on the shelf is cheap insurance against that stoppage, especially where the same model sits in more than one office or department.
Do all five cartridges fit the same printers?
Yes — every unit in the pack is the same 406046 black cartridge, made for Ricoh Aficio SP C220. If your machines are C220-series models, one pack can serve all of them. Before ordering for a fleet, it is worth confirming the cartridge number on one installed unit: if it reads 406046, the whole pack is correct for every machine of that model you run.
How do I manage five cartridges without losing track?
Keep them sealed and stored flat in one dry place, date each box as it arrives, and issue the oldest first. Toner holds up well in its sealed bag, so the discipline is bookkeeping rather than urgency: a simple count on the shelf tells you when the next order is due. Because black stops this printer outright, a sensible reorder point is when the last spare goes into a machine — not after it runs out.
What happens if a cartridge from the middle of the pack fails?
It is handled on its own. Every cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns regardless of pack size, so a single faulty unit is replaced or refunded without returning the rest — the full policy is on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
