Frequently Asked Questions
Can you still get toner for an Aficio 1515 this old?
Yes — and there's a simple reason: these copiers refuse to die, and the installed base is enormous, so the supply never went away. This compatible Ricoh 841718 cartridge keeps a 1515 doing what it has always done at a fraction of what a replacement machine would cost. If your 1515 still copies cleanly, feeding it is the economical choice.
Prints are coming out light — is that the cartridge or the copier giving up?
Even, overall fading almost always means the cartridge is near the end; a gentle side-to-side rock redistributes the last toner and usually restores output for a while. Sharp streaks, repeating marks, or lines that survive a fresh cartridge point at the machine instead, and that's a service question rather than a supply one. This listing is for the fading case, which is by far the more common one.
The 1515 is the name on this listing — what other machines take this cartridge?
What does it cost per page to keep a 1515 running?
The cartridge is $28.81 for a rated 7,000 pages — about 0.41¢ per page at standard coverage. That's the running cost of a machine that's long since paid for itself, which is precisely why so many 1515s are still in service. Larger pack sizes lower the per-page figure further for offices that copy a lot.
Do copies count against the 7,000-page rating the same as prints?
Yes. The rating counts pages imaged, however they were produced — a copied page and a printed page each consume their share of the same black cartridge. Scanning is the exception: sending a document to email or a folder never touches the toner.
What warranty and support come with a cartridge for a machine this age?
The cartridge itself is fully current stock: it carries a one-year warranty and free returns for a year, as set out on our shipping & returns page. Questions are answered by our support team Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central — including "will this fit my machine" checks before you order.
