Frequently Asked Questions

Who actually goes through 60,000 black pages — is a three-pack overkill for us?

It depends on your volume. A workgroup printing 4,000–5,000 black pages a month will use one 20,000-page cartridge roughly every four to five months, so a three-pack is about a year's supply — sensible, not excessive. If your machine only sees a few hundred pages a month, a single or two-pack is the better fit and this pack will simply sit longer than it needs to.

How does the pricing break down per cartridge and per page?

The pack is $161.56 for three cartridges, which is $53.85 each — versus $66.18 for a single, a total saving of $36.98 across the three. At the rated 20,000 pages per cartridge, your black page cost drops to about 0.27 cents, the lowest per-page figure short of the five-pack.

Will the third cartridge still be good when we finally open it a year from now?

Yes. Unopened toner cartridges keep for years when stored flat in their boxes, in a cool, dry spot out of direct sun. Label the boxes with the delivery date and use them in order, and the last cartridge of the three will perform like the first.

Which printers take these cartridges?

These are the platform black cartridges for Ricoh Aficio MP C3002 and MP C3502 — the Aficio MP C3002 / C3502 family, whose black cartridge number is 841276 (the family is listed as 8412). The listing names one number, but the cartridge itself is common to every model on that platform, so any machine in the family that takes an 841276 black uses these.

How does the warranty work across a multi-cartridge pack?

Coverage runs per cartridge, not per box: each of the three is backed by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free within the first year — see our shipping & returns page for the details. If the second cartridge you open has a problem, you send that one back; the others are unaffected.

Does a bigger pack change anything about delivery?

Only that it arrives in one parcel instead of three separate orders spread over the year. We ship from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and California warehouses, and you still get tracking on the shipment. One order, one delivery, a year of black toner handled.
