Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this cartridge identified by the number 46508704?

Because that number is the surest way to know you have the right part. 46508704 is the designation for the black cartridge used by the MC363DN and C332DN — each color in these machines has its own number, and black is this one. Printer model names get reused and restyled across regions, but the part number does not change. Match 46508704 against the cartridge you are removing, or against the supply screen on your machine, and there is no guesswork left.

What will this cartridge do for my MC363DN?

It restores your black printing and black-and-white copying for a rated 3,500 pages. On a color multifunction machine, black is the cartridge that does the heavy lifting — documents, forms, labels, and copies are overwhelmingly black — so it is normally the first to run out and the one whose absence stops the most work. At $36.81, the cost works out to roughly 1.05 cents per page of black output.

The machine says black is empty but my colors still show toner. Is that normal?

Completely normal, and it is how these machines are designed to be supplied. Black gets consumed by nearly everything the printer does, while the colors are used only when a job actually calls for them. Replace just the black — this cartridge — and carry on. There is no need to change the colors at the same time, and doing so early only wastes the toner left in them.

Is this an original Oki cartridge?

It is a compatible cartridge manufactured to the 46508704 specification, not a genuine Oki-branded one. The fit, the slot, and the 3,500-page yield class are the same; the box and the price are different. For a supply you replace more often than any other — which black is, on a machine like this — the saving repeats every cycle, which is why many MC363DN owners switch once they have tried one.

What backing comes with it?

A one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with the policy written out on our shipping and returns page. A year is a generous window for a black cartridge: even a lightly used one will be deep into its life by then, so any manufacturing fault will have had every chance to show itself while you are still covered. Questions are answered by our support team Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Where will it ship from?

From the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and California — with tracking sent when it leaves. Because the black cartridge is the one that stops everyday work when it empties, we would suggest ordering when the low warning first appears rather than waiting for a hard stop; the remaining toner bridges the delivery comfortably.
