Frequently Asked Questions

Who honestly needs four cartridges for an E232-class printer?

Usually not one printer — it is offices running several machines from this Lexmark family at once: a front desk, a back office, a warehouse station. Because every model on the platform takes the same cartridge, one four-pack on a central shelf feeds all of them without sorting boxes by printer. It also suits a single E232 that prints steadily all day, where 24,000 pages is a realistic year.

What does the four-pack pricing work out to?

Four singles would total $485.20; the four-pack is $429.76, which is $55.44 saved and $107.44 per cartridge — the lowest unit price this cartridge is sold at. Spread over 24,000 rated pages, toner cost falls to about 1.79 cents per page. For a multi-printer office, the bigger saving is often administrative: one order instead of four.

Which printers can draw from this stock?

All of them on this cartridge's platform: E332, E332n, E332tn, E340, E342 and E342n. The listing is headed by the E232, but the 12A8305 is a shared cartridge across the family, so a box bought for one machine is never stranded if that machine is retired — it simply moves to the next printer on the list. That interchangeability is what makes bulk stocking safe here.

Will cartridges stored for a year or more still print properly?

Yes, provided they stay sealed, flat and in a dry room-temperature space away from sun and heat vents. Toner is a dry powder and does not expire on a schedule the way liquid ink does. Date-mark the boxes when they arrive and use the oldest first, and the last cartridge out of storage will perform like the first.

Is a four-pack too much for one lightly used printer?

It can be, and we would rather say so: a single E232 printing a few hundred pages a month would take four years or more to finish 24,000 pages, and a two-pack covers that pattern with less cash tied up on the shelf. The four-pack earns its price when volume is real — several printers, or one machine printing every day. Match the pack to the page counter, not to the discount.

What happens if one cartridge out of the four is defective?

Coverage is per cartridge: each unit has its own one-year warranty and the one-year free-returns window applies to it individually, as described on our shipping and returns page. You return only the problem unit and keep printing with the rest of the pack. Support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want help diagnosing whether the fault is the cartridge or the printer.
