Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two cartridges at once for a printer this small?

Because the day the E232 stops mid-job is the day the spare pays for itself. With one cartridge installed and one sealed on the shelf, a low-toner stop becomes a two-minute swap instead of a rush order, and the second cartridge also acts as your reorder signal — when the spare goes in, that is the moment to order the next pair. On a printer that may run for weeks between uses, that routine quietly removes toner from your to-do list.

What do I actually save with the two-pack?

Two single cartridges bought separately would cost $242.60; this two-pack is $224.12, so you save $18.48 and bring the per-cartridge price down to $112.06. Across the pair's 12,000 rated pages, the cost works out to roughly 1.87 cents per page. It is a modest saving per box, but it repeats every cycle for as long as the printer keeps running.

Does this two-pack work in printers besides the E232?

Yes — the listing carries the E232 name, but the cartridge is common to the whole platform: E332, E332n, E332tn, E340, E342 and E342n. Any of those machines takes the same 12A8305 cartridge, so the pair can serve one printer twice or be split between two different models on the list. There is no E232-only variant to worry about.

Can I split the two cartridges between two different printers?

You can, as long as both printers are on the compatibility list above. Offices often keep one cartridge in the main E232 and park the second next to a backup machine elsewhere in the building. Each cartridge is individually sealed, so opening the outer box does not start any clock on the one you are not using yet.

How far does 12,000 pages of toner actually go?

At a small-office pace of 500 pages a month, the pair covers about two years of printing; at 1,000 pages a month, about one year. That makes the two-pack a natural annual or biennial purchase rather than a recurring errand. Check the printer's page counter when you install the first cartridge and you can forecast the second one's start date closely.

How are these cartridges covered if one underperforms?

Each cartridge in the pack carries its own one-year warranty, and you have a full year of free returns if a unit fails or prints poorly. The process is laid out on our shipping and returns page, and orders ship from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is closest to you. A bad cartridge is replaced on its own — you do not have to send back the good one.
