Frequently Asked Questions

What is the right cyan cartridge for the M451dw?

Look for CE411A — the cyan cartridge of the 305A family. The dw suffix on your printer describes its wireless and duplex features; the toner it takes is the same one the rest of the M451 range uses, and the label on the cartridge you pull out will confirm the number.

Can I see how much cyan is left from my laptop?

Yes. Because the M451dw lives on Wi-Fi, its embedded web page is reachable from any computer on the network, and the supplies screen breaks the remaining toner down cartridge by cartridge. No screen-walking, no test pages burned just to read a gauge.

We print photos from our phones. Does that change cyan usage?

It raises it. Phone photos are full-coverage pages, and skies, pools and blue clothing draw hard on cyan. The cartridge is rated at 2,600 pages against a 5 percent test page, so a photo-printing household should expect a shorter, still perfectly normal, real-world count from this $34.02 unit.

The last few prints show pale streaks down the blue areas. New cartridge time?

Streaky, uneven blues are the classic end-of-life signature of a cyan cartridge running dry — the remaining toner can no longer coat the page evenly. A gentle rock of the old cartridge sometimes buys a few more pages, but streaks mean the replacement should be on its way.

How fiddly is the swap in this printer?

Not at all. Open the front, slide the C-slot cartridge out, pull the seal on the new one and slide it home. The printer wakes up, recognises it and refreshes the cyan gauge on its own — there is nothing to register or configure afterward.

What cover comes with the purchase?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with a support team available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST if the first prints raise questions.

About This CE411A for the M451dw

The wireless workhorse of the Pro 400 color line, the LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451dw, takes this CE411A as its cyan cartridge — one unit from the 305A family, rated at 2,600 pages and priced at $34.02. It is sold singly because that is how the printer consumes it: cyan answers to its own schedule, set by how much blue your household or office puts on paper.
