Frequently Asked Questions

• How many pages does the HP CD975AN print?

HP rates the CD975AN at about 1,200 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 test conditions, printing standard pages at around 5% coverage. Your own count will move with coverage, paper and settings — dense colour pages use far more ink than plain text.

• Which printers take the CD975AN?

It fits OfficeJet 6000, OfficeJet 6000 Wireless, OfficeJet 6500, OfficeJet 6500 Wireless and 4 more. The complete verified list is in the Compatible Printers section on this page — check your model there before ordering.

• Is the HP 920 the same fit as the HP 932?

No. The 920 and 932 families look alike and serve similar OfficeJet generations, but the cartridges are not interchangeable — order the family your printer names on its cartridge door.

• Standard or XL — which should I buy?

This is the high-yield version, rated at about 1,200 pages. It costs more up front than the standard cartridge and far less per printed page, so it is the right pick for regular printing; the standard size suits a printer that only runs occasionally.

• Is the CD975AN pigment or dye ink?

It is pigment ink — the same ink technology HP uses in the original CD975AN — so text stays sharp and resists water and highlighter smear.

• What chip does this cartridge use?

Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer, so the low-ink warnings keep working. It is not a refilled original shell with a reset chip.

• A warning appeared after fitting this cartridge — how do I clear it?

Acknowledge the on-screen message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks, and restart the printer. If the warning persists, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall.

• Will it work next to genuine HP cartridges in the other slots?

Yes. Each slot is read independently, so a compatible black alongside original colours (or the other way round) prints normally.

• Why is there no 920 set of 9?

We stock the pack sizes LD Products sells for this family: singles and the set of 4. Larger bulk packs are not offered for the 920 line.

• Is this made by HP?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the CD975AN specification and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP; the HP name appears only to identify the printers it fits.

• What cover do I have if this cartridge fails?

Stop and contact us — do not keep printing on a faulty cartridge. The lifetime warranty covers recognition failures, leaks and print-quality defects: we replace the cartridge or refund you.

• Need the other colours too?

The full set and the other single colours are linked under the family list on this page, so you can match this cartridge with its matching set.
