This is the standard-capacity black for Epson's DURABrite platform: our compatible T069120-S carries pigment black ink rated up to 245 pages on Epson's published rating for the genuine cartridge. Pigment black is the document ink of this family — crisp text that dries fast and resists smearing — and it serves 30 of the family's 31 printers, from the Stylus CX5000 and NX515 to the WorkForce 600 and 615. Like every 69 cartridge, it is a chipped cartridge: ours carries a new compatible chip for ink-level tracking, and it is covered by our lifetime warranty with free returns for the first year.

Two fit warnings belong at the top, because both are common wrong orders. First, the Stylus C120 does not take this cartridge — its black is the high-capacity 68; only the 69 colors fit that printer. Second, the WorkForce 1100 holds two black cartridges at once, so a full change on that model needs two of these singles (or the Set of 14, which stocks five). A third, quieter note: the high-capacity 68 black is a different cartridge with model-by-model coverage — the NX200, for instance, cannot use it at all — so the code on your printer's cartridge bay, T069120, is the one to match.
The rest of the family on this shelf: T069220-S cyan, T069320-S magenta and T069420-S yellow singles, the Set of 4 (one of each color), and the Set of 14 (5 black + 3 of each color) for printers that work daily. Black is usually the first cartridge to run out on a document printer — it is sold as a single precisely so you never buy colors you don't need just to get black.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which printers does this black cartridge fit?
30 of the 31 verified 69-family models: the Stylus CX, NX, and N11 lines and every WorkForce model on the platform (30, 40, 310, 315, 500, 600, 610, 615, 1100). The one exception is the Stylus C120 — see the next question. Each model was confirmed in Epson's own manufacturer data for the T069120-S.
My printer is a Stylus C120. Will this work?
No. The C120 is the family's exception: its colors are 69 cartridges, but its black is the high-capacity 68 — a 69 black will not serve it. Order the 68 black for a C120; the 69 cyan, magenta and yellow singles on this site are the ones that fit it.
I have a WorkForce 1100. How many black cartridges do I need?
Two for a full change. The WorkForce 1100 has two black cartridge slots and runs both at once, so blacks deplete in pairs of slots. One single replaces one slot; the Set of 14 (5 blacks) is the natural shelf stock for this model.
How many pages does it print?
Up to 245 pages, on Epson's published rating for the genuine T069120-S. Epson's data sheets state this figure without an ISO standard citation, so we print the number as Epson publishes it and add no standard claim of our own.
Is the ink pigment or dye?
Pigment. The whole 69 family is DURABrite Ultra, which is Epson's pigment ink line — black included. Pigment black gives sharp, fast-drying, smudge-resistant text on plain paper, which is what these printers are mostly used for.
Does this cartridge have a chip?
Yes. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible cartridges of this generation — reseating the cartridge resolves most cases, and if it doesn't, contact us: the cartridge is covered by our lifetime warranty and 1-year free returns. We don't claim guaranteed recognition; we stand behind the cartridge instead.
Can I refill or reset my old 69 cartridge instead?
We don't recommend it, and for this generation there is a specific reason: repair-community records for the 68/69/88 cartridge generation describe a moisture (wetness) sensor behind the chip that can lock the chip permanently read-only once the cartridge runs dry — after which refilling or resetting no longer works and the chip itself would have to be replaced. That is a repair-community finding, not an Epson statement, but it matches how the major compatible sellers handle this family. Our cartridges are new-built with new chips, not refilled cores.
Is this the same cartridge as the 68 black?
No. The 68 (T068120) is the high-capacity sibling on the same platform, and its model coverage is different: the C120 requires it, most models accept it, and the NX200 cannot use it at all. Match the code in your printer — if it says T069120, this is your cartridge.
Why is black rated at 245 pages when cyan and magenta say 350?
That is Epson's own rating pattern for this family: the standard black is the smaller-yield cartridge, while cyan and magenta rate higher. (Epson publishes no official yield for the yellow.) On a text-heavy printer the black still runs out first in practice — which is why it's sold singly.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — this is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge, built to the genuine cartridge's specification and labeled compatible on the box and on this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.
How should I store a spare?
Sealed, upright, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources.
Warranty and returns?
Lifetime warranty: a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced. Free returns within the first year.
