Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is inside this 3 color set?

Three cartridges, one for each color position in your printer: the 310-5731 cyan, the 310-5730 magenta and the 310-5729 yellow, each rated at 4,000 pages. There is deliberately no black cartridge in this box — the black for this printer family is sold on its own, because most offices go through black on a very different schedule than the colors. If your black is also low, order it separately rather than expecting it here.

How much does the set save compared with buying the three colors individually?

The three cartridges bought one at a time add up to $129.42. This set is $92.41, so you keep $37.01 — and each cartridge inside works out to about $30.80 instead of the single-cartridge price. It is the same three cartridges either way; the set price is simply the reward for taking all three colors in one order.

One of my colors is still half full. Do I have to swap all three at once?

No. Install each cartridge only when its own color actually runs out, and keep the others sealed in the box until their turn comes. Colors rarely empty at the same moment — a printer that prints mostly charts may burn through cyan long before magenta — and there is no benefit to replacing a cartridge that still has toner working in it.

How long will 4,000 pages per color realistically last?

The 4,000-page rating is measured at the industry-standard 5% page coverage. A page with a full-color photo or a solid background uses far more than 5% of a color, while a mostly-text page with a small color logo uses less. In a typical small office printing a modest amount of color, a set like this commonly covers many months; heavy color printing shortens that proportionally.

Is this a genuine Dell cartridge set?

No — these are compatible cartridges built to match the 310-5731, 310-5730 and 310-5729 specifications, not Dell-branded originals. They are covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, which you can read in full on our shipping & returns page.

Where does the set ship from, and how do I reach you if something is wrong?

Orders leave from whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is best placed for your address. If a cartridge misbehaves, our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central Time, and more of our range for this printer family is listed on the Dell toner page.

About This Dell 3000 3 Color Set

This set bundles the three color cartridges for the Dell Color Laser 3000cn — 310-5731 cyan, 310-5730 magenta and 310-5729 yellow — into one box at $92.41, which is $37.01 less than the $129.42 the same three cartridges cost separately. Each color is rated at 4,000 pages, giving the set 12,000 pages of combined color capacity. Black is intentionally not included and is ordered on its own when it runs low. As compatible cartridges, the set carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns rather than Dell's original-brand coverage.
