Frequently Asked Questions

Five people print to this MF4570dn — how long does one cartridge realistically last?

Sharing changes the math completely. A cartridge rated at 2,100 pages might last a solo user a year, but a workgroup MF4570dn on a wired network can see 400 to 600 pages a week when several people route everyday jobs to it — at that pace, expect roughly a month of service per cartridge. The rating itself assumes about 5% page coverage, so form-heavy or graphics-heavy team output will land at the shorter end of that estimate.

Should a shared office keep a spare cartridge on the shelf?

For a networked machine that other people's work depends on, yes. When the only printer a team shares runs dry at 4 PM, the cost is idle staff, not toner. One sealed Canon 128 in the supply cabinet means the swap takes two minutes and work continues. Keep it stored flat in its packaging, out of sunlight and away from heat vents, and it will be ready whenever the working cartridge fades.

Is this the correct cartridge for the imageCLASS MF4570dn?

Yes — this is the Canon 128 black toner cartridge for the Canon imageCLASS MF4570dn, the duplex, Ethernet-networked model in the MF4570 line. Every job the machine handles over the network, from any desk, draws on this one cartridge, and the same cartridge also serves its copying and fax printing. There is no separate cartridge for network jobs versus local ones.

Split across a whole team, what does a page from this cartridge actually cost?

The full price is $26.19 for a rated 2,100 pages, which is about 1.25 cents per page. Stated honestly, a single cartridge is the most expensive way per page to buy this toner — offices that already know their MF4570dn's monthly volume usually save by choosing the multi-cartridge listings. The single makes sense as the shelf spare or the first cartridge while you learn your team's real consumption rate.

One colleague's pages look fine and another's look faded — is the cartridge inconsistent?

Usually not. Different print settings between computers — toner-save modes, lighter density defaults — can make the same cartridge look strong on one desk's output and pale on another's. The tell-tale sign of a genuinely empty cartridge is fading that shows up on every job from every user at once. When that happens, rock the cartridge gently side to side to redistribute the toner; if output stays light for everyone, it is finished.

If the cartridge is defective, what does the office get?

Full backing: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns cover this cartridge, and a faulty unit can be replaced or returned under the terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA to keep transit times short, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
