Frequently Asked Questions

What does one printed page actually cost with this cartridge?

The GPR-53BK lists at $105.77 and is rated at 36,000 pages, which works out to roughly 0.29 cents per page for black output. On a production machine, that per-page figure is the number that matters — cartridge price on its own says little, because a cheaper cartridge that empties in half the time usually costs more per page, not less. Rated yield assumes standard coverage, so dense pages will land somewhat above the figure and light text pages below it.

How far does 36,000 pages actually go in a working copy room?

It depends entirely on your daily volume, and the arithmetic is simple: at 500 pages a day, one GPR-53BK covers about 72 working days; at 1,000 pages a day, about 36; at 2,000 a day, roughly 18. That is the real point of a high-capacity cartridge on an imageRUNNER — the swap interval stretches from days into weeks, and toner stops being a weekly errand.

Why does a production machine take a cartridge this size in the first place?

Because every cartridge change on a production device is an interruption: the run stops, someone walks to the machine, and output waits. A 36,000-page rating means those interruptions happen a fraction as often as they would with a small cartridge. Fewer swaps also means fewer chances to start a long job on a cartridge that dies halfway through it.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No — this is a compatible GPR-53BK built to work in the Canon imageRUNNER machines that take the GPR-53 line, sold under our own label rather than Canon's. Compatible is where the price comes from: you are paying for the toner and the cartridge, not the brand packaging. The cartridge is rated to the same 36,000-page class as the original it replaces.

What happens if the cartridge fails in the middle of a production run?

Every compatible we sell is covered by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns. If a GPR-53BK streaks, leaks or gives up early, contact us and we will replace it or take it back — full details are on our shipping and returns page. On a production floor, keeping one spare on the shelf alongside that cover means a bad cartridge costs you minutes, not a missed deadline.

How quickly can a replacement or a fresh order reach us?

Orders leave from the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so most production sites are a short transit from stock. If you are setting up a reorder rhythm for a GPR-53 machine, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and can help you time orders against your swap intervals.

About This Canon GPR-53 Black Toner Cartridge

The single-cartridge way to buy Canon GPR-53 black: one GPR-53BK, rated at 36,000 pages, at $105.77. It suits operations that reorder as they go rather than stocking ahead — though if your machine eats black steadily, the multi-packs in the same family bring the per-cartridge price down step by step. The rest of our Canon toner range covers the GPR-53 ladder and the GPR-51 color family that runs alongside it.

Alongside it sit the yellow cartridge (GPR-53Y), the magenta cartridge (GPR-53M), the cyan cartridge (GPR-53C), the GPR-53 4-cartridge set and the GPR-53 black 2 pack. This black cartridge (GPR-53BK) fits the imageRUNNER Advance C3330i, imageRUNNER Advance C3520i, imageRUNNER Advance C3525i and imageRUNNER Advance C3325i — every machine on the GPR-53 list takes this same cartridge family.
