Frequently Asked Questions

Why stock two colour cycles for a machine whose black needs half the attention?

Because the colour side is where this family's interruptions live. The GPR-53BK black is rated at up to 36,000 pages; the GPR-53C, GPR-53M and GPR-53Y colours at up to 19,000 each — so colours come due about twice per black cycle, and each colour stockout stops colour work just as completely as a dead black would. Six colour cartridges, two full turns of the three colour slots, put the interruption-prone side of the machine on a stocked footing.

Is the 6-pack better value than two 3-colour sets?

Yes, modestly. Two 3-colour sets at $255.99 would total $511.98; this set is $493.50, saving $18.48, and the per-cartridge price falls to about $82.25 — the lowest per-cartridge figure among the GPR-53 colour listings. The cartridges are the same as in the smaller sets; the saving is the bulk step, taken once instead of twice.

How many black cartridges will we go through while this colour bank lasts?

On ratings, about one. The bank holds two colour cycles — two turns of slots rated at up to 19,000 pages each — which sits alongside roughly one GPR-53BK's 36,000-page life. Heavy text work stretches the colours and shortens the black's reign; heavy photo work does the opposite. Either way, it makes the planning conversation simple: one colour bank, one black, review both together.

How do we rotate the bank so the second cycle doesn't sit past its best?

Date every box the day it arrives, store the newer cycle behind the older one, and always pull the oldest cartridge of the colour you need — GPR-53C, GPR-53M or GPR-53Y. Kept sealed, flat, cool and out of sunlight, cartridges hold up well in storage; rotation is about using stock in order and keeping the count honest, not racing a clock.

What if our colour work drops and the bank outlasts the machine's contract?

Then the honest answer is that deep stock is a bet on volume, and volume changed. Sealed cartridges keep well and the GPR-53 colours fit any machine in this family, so a bank can follow the work to a sister machine on the same platform. But if your colour volume is genuinely uncertain, the 3-colour set plus singles is the lower-commitment way to buy — this set rewards sites whose colour load is steady.

How fast can a six-cartridge box reach us, and what cover comes with it?

It ships from the closest of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — from domestic stock, not on order from overseas. Every cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, each on its own merits. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Set

This is the GPR-53 6-colour set: six compatible colour cartridges spanning the GPR-53C cyan, GPR-53M magenta and GPR-53Y yellow, each rated at up to 19,000 pages — two full colour cycles for a family whose GPR-53BK black, at 36,000 pages, needs attention half as often. It suits imageRUNNER production sites with steady, serious colour volume. The set ships from one of our four US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. See the rest of the family on the Canon toner page.

Alongside it sit the yellow cartridge (GPR-53Y), the magenta cartridge (GPR-53M), the cyan cartridge (GPR-53C) and the GPR-53 3-cartridge set. This 6-cartridge set is the cartridge these machines take: the imageRUNNER Advance C3525i, imageRUNNER Advance C3325i, imageRUNNER Advance C3330i and imageRUNNER Advance C3520i.
