Frequently Asked Questions

Black in this family runs twice the colours' rating — why does a colours-only set make sense here?

Precisely because of that ratio. The GPR-53BK black is rated at up to 36,000 pages; the GPR-53C, GPR-53M and GPR-53Y colours at up to 19,000 each. On any real output mix the colour side comes due roughly twice for every black change, so a set that refreshes the three colours together matches how this family actually wears. Buying black on the colour schedule would stock a cartridge long before its slot wants it.

What does the set save against three singles at $97.66?

The three colour singles total $292.98. This set is $255.99 — a saving of $36.99, bringing the per-cartridge price to about $85.33 against $97.66 bought one at a time. The cartridges are the same ones sold individually, each rated at up to 19,000 pages; the difference is the set pricing and one shipment instead of three.

If the colours were installed at different times, does a joint refresh reset the clock usefully?

It can. Staggered colours drift out of balance gradually — each one fades on its own schedule, and the machine's colour quietly walks away from true. Bringing the GPR-53C, GPR-53M and GPR-53Y back to the same age in one swap gives the machine a known starting point, which matters when proofs today have to match reprints next quarter. If only one colour is genuinely spent, though, a single still does the job for less.

How much colour output does one set represent next to the 36,000-page black?

One full colour cycle: 19,000 pages' worth of cyan, magenta and yellow capacity against the black's 36,000-page rating. In planning terms, expect to work through about two of these sets across one black cartridge's life on balanced work — fewer if the machine lives on text, more if it lives on photographic colour.

Can we install just the colour that's empty and shelve the other two?

Yes. The set is a buying unit, not a fitting instruction. Install the colour that has run down, keep the other two sealed, flat and away from heat, and date the box so the shelved pair get used before any newer stock. They lose nothing by waiting a few months for their slots to call.

What cover and delivery come with the colour set?

Each cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, covered on its own merits. The set ships from the closest of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — and the full terms are on our shipping and returns page. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
