Frequently Asked Questions

What does one printed page actually cost with this cartridge?

The maths is simple: $49.08 spread over a rated 30,200 pages works out at roughly 0.16 cents per page. That yield is measured on the industry-standard basis of about 5% page coverage, so dense production work with heavy black areas will land lower in real life — but as a like-for-like comparison figure, 0.16 cents a page is where the Canon GPR-43 starts.

Our machine could take a few different cartridges — why does the family matter?

Because the families are not interchangeable. The GPR-43, GPR-42 and GPR-38 each serve different imageRUNNER machines, and a cartridge from the wrong family will not fit or run, however attractive its price looks. What matters is the code your machine calls for — if that code is GPR43BK, this is the cartridge, and the GPR-42 or GPR-38 cannot be substituted for it.

Why begin with one cartridge when the packs are cheaper per unit?

A single GPR-43 lets you judge a compatible cartridge on your own machine and your own work — density, consistency, how it behaves across a long run — before committing to a multi-pack. Once you are satisfied, the ladder is there: the per-cartridge price falls at every pack size. Starting with one is the low-risk way to get there.

How long will 30,200 pages last on a working imageRUNNER?

Divide the yield by your monthly volume. At 2,500 pages a month, one cartridge is roughly a year of printing; at 10,000 pages a month it is about three months. Production machines vary enormously, so your meter readings give the honest answer — but even busy departments find a 30,200-page cartridge is not something they change often.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No — it is a compatible GPR43BK cartridge, built to deliver the same 30,200-page rated yield in the machines that use the Canon GPR-43. It is covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, so if it lets you down inside that window you are not carrying the risk. The details are on our shipping and returns page.

Where will it ship from, and who do we call if something is off?

Stock is held at four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — and orders leave from the location that makes sense for delivery. If anything about the cartridge disappoints, our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
