Frequently Asked Questions

What does the pair give us in total?

Two GPR-38 cartridges at 56,000 pages each give 112,000 pages for $169.59. The per-cartridge price falls to $84.80 from $94.05, the second cartridge effectively adds $75.54, and the pair saves $18.51 against two singles. Across the 112,000 pages, the rated cost comes down to about 0.15 cents per page.

Why pair up a cartridge that already lasts 56,000 pages?

Because when a cartridge with that service life finally does run out, the machine it feeds is a production machine — and production does not wait politely for a delivery. With the second cartridge on site, the change happens on your schedule, the moment it is needed, and the reorder follows afterwards at leisure.

How long a supply horizon does 112,000 pages represent?

At 10,000 pages a month, close to a year; at 25,000 a month, four to five months. For many production environments the pair is the natural planning unit: long enough to stop thinking about toner, short enough that stock never sits ageing in a corner.

How should the spare be kept until its turn comes?

Sealed in its packaging, flat, in a cool dry place. A GPR38BK cartridge stored that way is simply waiting; when the first cartridge finishes, the second goes straight in. Rotate any further stock behind it oldest-first.

Can this pair be shared with a machine on the GPR-42?

No. These cartridges are GPR-38 (GPR38BK) units. The GPR-42 and GPR-43 families are made for other imageRUNNER machines, and cartridges cannot be exchanged between the families — each machine draws only on its own family's stock.

What warranty and returns cover applies?

Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, as set out on the shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
