Colour copies look right on screen but print washed toward purple — which cartridge do we suspect?

The magenta, most likely. The GPR-36M carries the red half of the colour mix, and when it runs low the balance tips: reds go thin, purples and blues take over the page, and skin tones lose their warmth. Print the machine's colour test page and compare the magenta patch with the cyan and yellow. A pale or uneven magenta patch confirms it — swap the GPR-36M and the warmth comes back with it.

Why do presentation decks eat magenta faster than text documents?

Because magenta does more work per page than people expect. Every red, pink, purple and orange on the page is built from it, and it is also a component in most photographic skin tones. A month of marketing decks and training handouts can pull the GPR-36M down noticeably faster than a month of reports with a colour header — same machine, same 19,000-page rating, very different appetite.

All three GPR-36 colours cost the same $71.06 — does that mean they wear out evenly?

No. The GPR-36C, GPR-36M and GPR-36Y are priced alike and rated alike at up to 19,000 pages each, but they are consumed by your output, not by the calendar. Blue-heavy work drains cyan, red-heavy work drains magenta, and highlights drain yellow. Expect the three to finish at different times and order singles accordingly — that is exactly why they are sold individually as well as in sets.

Can we swap the magenta mid-run without spoiling the job in the machine?

Yes. Pause the run, change the GPR-36M, and let the machine settle — most imageRUNNER units run a brief calibration after a cartridge change, and the first page or two afterwards is worth checking before you release the rest of the job. What you should not do is shake the old cartridge and push on when the output has already shifted colour; a faded magenta does not recover, and the reprint costs more than the pause.

How quickly can a replacement reach us if magenta dies on a deadline?

This is a US-stocked compatible cartridge, shipped from the closest of our four warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California. It does not start its journey overseas when you order it.
