Frequently Asked Questions

Six colour cartridges — what does holding a second colour cycle change?

It changes colour from a reorder chore into a stock position. This set carries six colour cartridges across the GPR-36C cyan, GPR-36M magenta and GPR-36Y yellow — two full turns of the machine's three colour slots, each cartridge rated at up to 19,000 pages. When the first cycle ends, the second is already on the shelf, and the reorder conversation happens on your schedule instead of the machine's.

Is the 6-pack cheaper than two 3-colour sets bought apart?

Yes. Two of the family's 3-colour sets at $176.21 would total $352.42; this set is $333.93, saving $18.49, and the per-cartridge price drops to about $55.66 — the lowest per-cartridge figure among the GPR-36 colour listings. The cartridges are the same as in the smaller set; the step simply prices the deeper stock more kindly.

How long might six colour cartridges last a mid-volume production machine?

Do the arithmetic against your own meter: the bank holds two cycles of colour, and each cycle is three cartridges rated at up to 19,000 pages apiece. A machine turning out, say, 3,000 colour pages a month spreads a cycle across the better part of a year; one doing 10,000 a month moves through it in a couple of months. Either way, the bank's job is to cover your reorder interval twice over, not to hit a particular date.

How do we rotate two cycles so the older stock goes in first?

Date every box on arrival and store the newer cycle behind or below the older one — physical order does most of the work. When a colour slot calls, pull the oldest cartridge of the GPR-36C, GPR-36M or GPR-36Y you need. Sealed cartridges store well flat, cool and out of sunlight, so rotation is about bookkeeping, not about toner going off.

What if one colour in the bank keeps outrunning the others?

Then top that colour up with a single. The GPR-36 colours are sold individually at $71.06, precisely because real output mixes are lopsided — a site heavy on charts may burn cyan twice as fast as yellow. The bank covers the broad rhythm; singles correct the imbalance without forcing another full set on the shelf.

What warranty covers a bank bought months ahead of its use?

Every cartridge in the set carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, each covered on its own merits — which is one more reason to rotate oldest-first and keep the boxes dated. If a cartridge underperforms when it is installed, the remedy is the same as for a cartridge bought yesterday. Terms are on our shipping and returns page, with support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Set

This is the GPR-36 6-colour set: six compatible colour cartridges spanning the GPR-36C cyan, GPR-36M magenta and GPR-36Y yellow, each rated at up to 19,000 pages, with the GPR-36BK black handled separately on its own timetable. It suits imageRUNNER production and copy-room sites whose colour volume justifies banking two full colour cycles. The set ships from one of our four US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and is covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. See the rest of the family on the Canon toner page.

Alongside it sit the yellow cartridge (GPR-36Y), the magenta cartridge (GPR-36M), the cyan cartridge (GPR-36C) and the GPR-36 3-cartridge set. This 6-cartridge set is the cartridge these machines take: the ImageRunner Advance C2225, ImageRunner C2020, ImageRunner Advance C2020 and ImageRunner Advance C2030.
