Frequently Asked Questions

How much printing does one GPR-24 cartridge actually cover?

The GPR24BK is rated at 48,000 pages at the standard 5% coverage — the highest-yield single cartridge in this part of the Canon range. On a production copier that is a long, uninterrupted run of copying and printing between changes, which is exactly what machines in this class are bought for.

What is the toner cost per page?

At $93.77 for 48,000 rated pages, the toner works out to roughly 0.20 cents per page. That figure is cartridge cost only, but it is the number that matters when a department compares supply contracts: at this yield, toner is a very small line in the cost of a copied page.

We also stock GPR-17 — can the two be used in each other's machines?

No. The Canon GPR-24 and Canon GPR-17 are different cartridge families for different devices, and neither substitutes for the other, despite both being high-yield black copier cartridges. Keep the codes separate on the shelf: GPR24BK stock belongs to GPR-24 machines only. Check the code on the cartridge you remove before reordering.

Is this an original Canon cartridge?

No, it is a compatible GPR24BK cartridge made to deliver the same 48,000-page rated yield in machines that take the Canon GPR-24, without the original-brand price tag. It is covered by a one-year warranty, so performance problems are handled as a warranty claim rather than absorbed as a loss.

How are problems handled at this volume level?

Through the one-year warranty and one-year free returns policy, set out on our shipping & returns page. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST — the same hours most copy rooms are in full operation.

How should a spare be kept?

Sealed in its box, flat, at room temperature and away from radiators, windows and other heat or sunlight. Toner cartridges in this class are routinely held as on-site spares, and orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA when the spare needs replacing.
