Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I replace all four cartridges at once instead of just the one that ran out?

On the LBP612Cdw and MF630-series machines this set serves, the four cartridges tend to age together, especially in an office that prints color regularly. Swapping in a full fresh set — black 1246C001 plus cyan 1243C001, magenta 1244C001 and yellow 1245C001 — resets the whole color balance in one ten-minute session instead of four separate interruptions spread over the next few weeks. It also means one delivery, one invoice and one reorder point to track, which matters more than it sounds in a busy office.

What does the "H" in 045H actually change compared with the standard 045?

Capacity. These are the high-yield versions: the black cartridge is rated at up to 2,800 pages and each color at up to 2,200 pages, against noticeably lower ratings on the standard-fill 045 line. Same printer, same fit, more toner in the box — so the set lasts longer between changes and the cost of each printed page comes down. If your monthly volume is genuinely light, the standard set may be enough; if the machine prints every day, the H set is usually the better arithmetic.

How is $77.94 for four cartridges worked out per cartridge?

Divide the set price by four and each cartridge effectively costs about $19.49. That is the honest way to compare this set against buying the four 045H cartridges one at a time as each color fails — single-cartridge purchases almost always land higher per unit, and you pay the delivery-and-downtime cost four times instead of once.

What happens if one cartridge in the set prints badly?

Every cartridge we sell is covered the same way, whether it came in a set or on its own: a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should. A bad cartridge in a set does not mean returning all four — contact us, tell us which color is misbehaving, and we will sort that cartridge out. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Our color prints suddenly look dull — will a new set fix that?

Often, yes — but check first. Dull, washed-out color usually means one cartridge is nearly empty and quietly dragging the whole balance down; the printer rarely warns you about all four at once. Print a test page and look at which color block looks weakest. If one color is clearly fading, that cartridge is the culprit, and having the full set on hand means the fix is a single swap rather than a wait for a delivery.

How should we store the cartridges we are not installing yet?

Keep them sealed, flat, and in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. A compatible cartridge stores patiently, but there is no benefit in opening one early. A practical habit: mark the arrival month on each box and always install the oldest stock first, so nothing sits on the shelf long enough to be forgotten.
