Frequently Asked Questions

Why did our greens turn blue before any low-toner warning appeared?

Because yellow is the quietest cartridge in the Canon GPR-23 family. Yellow — part number 0455B003AA — is the lightest colour on the page, so as it fades the change creeps in: greens lose their yellow component and slide toward blue, and warm tones print cold, often before anyone notices a warning. By the time output looks obviously wrong, this cartridge is usually well into its last stretch.

How can we catch a fading yellow before a big job does?

Print a test page with solid blocks of each colour and compare them. A yellow block that looks washed out or patchy against strong cyan and magenta blocks confirms it. Sites that run imageRUNNER C2550, C2880, C3080, C3380 or C3480 machines on production work often replace the yellow on a meter-based schedule instead — at a known monthly volume, a cartridge rated at up to 14,000 pages has a predictable change date.

Does yellow really get used on ordinary office documents?

More than most people expect. Yellow sits inside greens, warm greys, skin tones and most highlight colours, so a department producing charts, branded documents and presentations draws on it steadily. Pure text work barely touches it — that load falls on the 26,000-page black — which is why the yellow's consumption varies so much between departments sharing the same machine.

What is the running cost of this cartridge?

The GPR-23 yellow is $57.70, the same price as the family's magenta single, and rated at up to 14,000 pages — roughly 0.41 cents per page for the yellow component at standard coverage. Heavy colour coverage shortens real-world life against the rating, as it does for every cartridge in the family.

Which part number should our order carry to get the yellow, not another colour?

0455B003AA. In the GPR-23 family the sequence runs black 0452B003AA, cyan 0453B003AA, magenta 0454B003AA and yellow 0455B003AA — one digit apart. Quoting the full part number on the requisition is what keeps a yellow requirement from being filled with whichever box sits nearest the storeroom door.

What cover is included if the cartridge disappoints?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, the same as every compatible cartridge we sell — a faulty 0455B003AA is replaced or returned at no risk to you. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the detail is on our shipping & returns page.
