Frequently Asked Questions

Which cartridge should I order for a WorkCentre 4260XM?

The 106R01409. This is its single-cartridge listing, named for the 4260XM: one compatible black cartridge rated at up to 25,000 pages for $90.92. Confirm the designation on the cartridge you are removing — 106R01409 is the number that decides it.

How long does one cartridge typically serve a 4260XM?

At 1,700 pages a month, close to fifteen months. At 3,400 pages a month, around seven. The yield rating uses the standard 5% coverage measure, so a diet of plain documents tracks those estimates while heavy graphics shorten them.

What other machines run this cartridge?

The platform family is wide: WorkCentre 4250, WorkCentre 4250C, WorkCentre 4250S, WorkCentre 4250X, WorkCentre 4250XF, WorkCentre 4260, WorkCentre 4260S and WorkCentre 4260X — the 4260XM shares the 106R01409 with all of them.

The 4260XM prints pale across every page — cartridge or machine fault?

Run the cartridge test before suspecting the machine: remove the cartridge, hold it level, rock it gently side to side, reinstall, and print. Even paleness that survives the test, on a cartridge near its rated life, is an empty cartridge doing exactly what empty cartridges do.

Is $90.92 for a single cartridge the sensible first move?

For a first compatible cartridge in this machine, yes — it proves the 106R01409 in your own 4260XM for about 0.36 cents per page, backed by warranty and free returns. Regular volume afterwards points to the packs, where the per-cartridge price steps down to $76.13.

What warranty and return terms come with it?

A 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns, standard across this range. The full policy is published on our shipping and returns page, and support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
