Frequently Asked Questions

Our 4620DNM's pages are fading on one side — is a new cartridge the fix?

Eventually, yes — but try the free step first. Fading that is worse on one side usually means the toner remaining in the old cartridge has settled unevenly. Remove it, hold it level, and rock it gently side to side five or six times; if the print evens out, you have recovered the last of that cartridge. When the whole page is pale and rocking no longer helps, the cartridge is spent — and this is its replacement: the high-yield 106R01535, rated at 30,000 pages.

What part number does the Phaser 4620DNM use?

106R01535. It is the shared high-yield black cartridge of the Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, also referred to as the 4600H. This listing carries the 4620DNM's name so the cartridge can be found by printer model; the number stamped on the cartridge you remove is the authoritative check.

Which other models does this cartridge fit?

The rest of the platform: the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants. A single cartridge design serves them all, so stock bought for the 4620DNM is never stranded if another machine needs it first.

What does the 30,000-page rating come to in cost?

About 0.49 cents per page: $146.12 for a 30,000-page rating at the standard 5% coverage. Heavy graphics and dense forms consume more toner per page than the standard assumes, so real cost per page rises on that kind of work — but for the text documents these printers mostly produce, the rating is a fair planning figure.

How long should this cartridge last once it goes in?

At 900 pages a month, nearly three years. At 1,800 pages a month, about 16 to 17 months. At 3,600 pages a month, roughly eight months. However you slice it, a high-yield cartridge in a workgroup machine is a long-interval supply — the kind you replace on a calendar reminder, not a weekly one.

What cover do I get with it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the same protection attached to every cartridge we sell. If this compatible 106R01535 underperforms, the remedy is ours to provide. Terms are on the shipping and returns page; support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
