Frequently Asked Questions

Why do blues and greens start looking washed out on my prints?

That washed-out look is the classic sign that cyan is nearly gone. Blue skies turn greyish, company logos lose their punch and greens go flat, because both colours are built with a large share of cyan toner. Swapping in this 106R02241 cyan cartridge restores that missing component, so colour pages come out balanced again instead of looking like faded photocopies. Black text can still look perfectly sharp while this is happening, which is why the problem is often mistaken for a printer fault.

How long should 2,000 pages of cyan last in a small office?

It depends on how much colour you actually print, not on how much paper passes through the machine in total. If your team prints around 100 colour pages a month, the rated supply can stretch well beyond a year; at 300 colour pages a month, expect roughly six to seven months of charts, covers and proposals. The 2,000-page figure is measured at standard coverage, so full-page presentations and photo-heavy sheets will use cyan faster than a memo carrying a small blue heading.

If only cyan is empty, do I need to replace the other colours too?

No. On this platform each colour sits in its own cartridge, so you replace only the colour the machine reports as empty. Fitting a fresh 106R02241 takes care of the cyan position on its own, while the black, magenta and yellow cartridges already in the printer keep working until they run down in turn. That is the practical advantage of a single-cartridge listing like this one: you pay for the colour you need, at the moment you need it.

Which Phaser and WorkCentre models take this cyan cartridge?

This cartridge fits the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn printers, along with the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605dn multifunction models. The suffixes mark out network and duplex options rather than a different toner fitting, so any of those six machines accepts the same cyan cartridge in the same slot.

What does the cyan in each colour page cost with this cartridge?

The cartridge is priced at $43.32 and rated for up to 2,000 pages, which puts the cyan toner cost at about 2.17 cents per page. That per-page view is the fairest way to judge a standard-capacity cartridge: it suits offices whose colour volume is steady but modest, where taking a smaller fill makes more sense than tying up budget in capacity they would take a long time to use.

About This 106R02241 Cyan Cartridge

For offices that print colour in bursts rather than all day, this single compatible cyan cartridge is the tidy way to keep a Phaser 6600 or WorkCentre 6605 looking right: one 106R02241 cartridge at $43.32, rated for up to 2,000 pages at about 2.17 cents per page, aimed squarely at the faded-blue, flat-green stage that tells you cyan, and only cyan, needs changing. Order it when the colour balance slips, fit it in minutes, and the charts, logos and headings that carry your company colours are back to how they should look.
