Frequently Asked Questions

How much does this pack cut from the price of each cartridge?

Each of the five works out at $24.23, because the box is $121.13 — against $39.02 for one MLT-D205L bought singly. Across the pack that is $73.97 saved, and the SCX-4833FR's toner cost per page drops from roughly 0.78 cents to about 0.48 cents for the whole 25,000-page life of the box. The cartridge itself is unchanged; only what you pay for it is different.

How long will the box keep a shared SCX-4833FR going?

Twenty-five thousand rated pages, spent on the machine's mixture of printing and copying. A workgroup producing 2,000 pages a month is looking at about a year from one box; at 4,000 a month, roughly six months. Checking the machine's own page counter for the last quarter gives the most truthful local estimate — every office's coverage habits differ.

Can the cartridges be drawn on by our other Samsung printers?

Yes. The MLT-D205L is common to the ML-3310, ML-3310D and ML-3310ND, the ML-3312, ML-3312D and ML-3312ND, the ML-3710 and ML-3712 families, and the SCX-4833, SCX-4833HD, SCX-4835, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5737 multifunctions. The box is best thought of as the platform's stock, kept near whichever machine empties first.

How should the spares be kept while the box is being used up?

Sealed, flat, cool and dry, and used in arrival order. Toner keeps its quality for a long time in those conditions, so even the fifth cartridge — which may not be fitted for months — prints as the first one did. Avoid anywhere hot or sunlit, and keep the boxes where the person who swaps cartridges will find them without a search.

What if one cartridge from the box prints badly?

Set that one aside and fit the next; cover runs per cartridge, so the faulty unit is returnable free within its year of free returns, under its own one-year warranty, without involving the rest of the box. If the replacement prints the same defect in the same place, the cause is in the machine — often the MLT-R205 drum — rather than in the toner. The shipping and returns page walks through how a return is made.

Does the pack change anything about ordering habits?

Mostly it lengthens them: one order covers what used to take five, and reordering only becomes necessary when the last cartridge goes in. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, ordering through our Samsung toner range keeps the same part number in front of you, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
