Frequently Asked Questions

How long should we expect between cartridge changes on an ML-3312?

With 5,000 pages in the MLT-D205L, a desk printing a few hundred pages a month may only change cartridges two or three times a year. Busier users will cycle through faster, but the high-yield fill is specifically what separates this cartridge from the standard version — the interval is measured in months, not weeks.

How is the 5,000-page yield figure calculated?

It follows the industry method: pages printed at 5% toner coverage, roughly a page of ordinary business text. A page that is mostly a spreadsheet grid, a form with heavy shading or a graphic uses more than 5%, and a short memo uses less. Your cartridge's real total will be the average of everything you print.

What is the difference between this and the MLT-D205S?

Capacity. The MLT-D205S is the standard-yield cartridge for the same printers at around 2,000 pages; the MLT-D205L on this page is the high-yield version at 5,000 pages. Both fit the ML-3312 — the choice is simply how often you want to change cartridges and what you want to pay per page.

Does this cartridge fit other Samsung printers we might add later?

Very likely, if they come from the same workgroup family. The MLT-D205L serves the ML-3310 range, the rest of the ML-3312 range including the D and ND variants, the ML-3710 and ML-3712 ranges, and the SCX-4833, SCX-4835, SCX-5637 and SCX-5737 multifunction models. Standardising on it keeps future purchases simple.

What should the first pages look like after I install it?

Clean and evenly black from the first sheet. Before fitting, remove the packaging and sealing tape fully and rock the cartridge gently to distribute the toner. If the first prints are faint all over, reseat the cartridge; persistent problems on a brand-new unit are a warranty matter, not something you should have to work around.

What cover applies if something goes wrong?

The cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty, and returns stay free for twelve months. Leak, streaks or an early failure — the unit comes back to us at our expense. The shipping and returns page has the procedure, and our support hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
