Frequently Asked Questions

Everything looks dull and cold, yet no single color has obviously failed — why suspect the yellow?

Because yellow fades quietly. The CLP-Y660B feeds every warm tone, highlight and green on the page, so as it thins the whole palette cools and flattens rather than one color breaking. Creams go gray, golds go muddy, and the printer never announces a culprit. A fresh yellow is the usual cure for that overall dullness.

How is the 5,000-page rating worked out, and what do we pay per page?

The rating follows the standard 5% coverage method: the CLP-Y660B is measured at 5,000 pages, and at $67.49 that prices the yellow in each rated page at approximately 1.35 cents. Sun-heavy graphics and highlighted documents use yellow faster than the test page does, so real life runs a little shorter in graphics-led offices.

Which printers does the CLP-Y660B fit?

The CLP-610ND, CLP-660N and CLP-660ND, together with the CLX-6200FX, CLX-6200ND and CLX-6210FX multifunctions. That is the complete 660B family list — the cartridge does not cross over to any other Samsung platform.

How do we tell the yellow apart from the other 660B cartridges?

By the letter in the code: Y in CLP-Y660B marks yellow, just as the sibling units carry their own identifying letters on the same 660B base. Match the code on the cartridge you pull out and there is no ambiguity, even though the four cartridges look alike.

Does a low yellow affect black-and-white work?

No — mono documents draw on the black cartridge only, so reports and letters print exactly as before. It is color work that suffers, which is why a fading CLP-Y660B can go unnoticed in a text-heavy office until a color job exposes it.

What cover does this cartridge carry?

A one-year warranty stands behind it, and returns are free throughout that first year if it faults or disappoints; our shipping & returns page has the procedure. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California.

About This Samsung CLP-Y660B Yellow Toner Cartridge

The CLP-Y660B is the yellow member of Samsung's high-yield 660B set for the CLP-610/660 printers and CLX-6200 multifunctions: rated at 5,000 pages, priced at $67.49, and costing around 1.35 cents per rated page. Yellow does the invisible work in color printing — warmth, light and half of every green — so this cartridge's condition sets the mood of everything the machine produces. In our Samsung compatible catalogue it is covered by a year's warranty with free returns during that year.
