Frequently Asked Questions

Our blues look washed out and the greens have gone yellowish — is the cyan cartridge the likely culprit?

Very often, yes. Cyan is the ingredient behind every blue and half of every green the printer makes, so as the CLP-C660B runs down those are the colors that drift first: skies pale, logos lose their depth and greens slide toward yellow. Black text stays crisp because it comes from a separate cartridge, which is why a fading cyan can hide behind otherwise healthy-looking pages.

How far does the 5,000-page rating go in a real office?

The CLP-C660B is rated at 5,000 pages at the standard 5% coverage, and at $67.49 that works out to roughly 1.35 cents per page for the cyan channel. A workgroup printing a few hundred color pages a month will measure one cartridge in seasons; heavy brochure or chart work, where cyan coverage climbs well past 5%, shortens that span considerably.

How do I make sure I am ordering the cyan and not one of its siblings?

Go by the code on the cartridge coming out of the machine. The letter in the middle does the sorting: C in CLP-C660B marks this as the cyan, while the matching magenta, yellow and black units carry their own letters in the same 660B family. If the label on your old cartridge reads CLP-C660B, this is its like-for-like replacement.

Which printers does this cartridge fit?

It serves the CLP-610ND, CLP-660N and CLP-660ND printers, along with the CLX-6200FX, CLX-6200ND and CLX-6210FX multifunctions. Those six models share the same engine family, so a machine that takes the 660B black takes this cyan as well.

Can I keep printing once the printer reports the cyan as low?

For document work, yes — the printer will keep running and the black channel is untouched. For color output, treat the warning as your ordering cue rather than your stopping point: every page after it trades a little more color accuracy for time, so the sensible pattern is to finish the job in hand and have the next CLP-C660B on the shelf before the old one is fully spent.

What cover comes with this cartridge?

As a Clever Supplies compatible, the CLP-C660B is protected by a one-year warranty, and returns stay free throughout that first year if anything underperforms. Our shipping & returns page walks through the process, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders leave from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses.
