Frequently Asked Questions

When is the right moment to order a replacement for a B4500n?

When the currently installed cartridge first needs the shake trick to stay dark, order the next one — delivery then overlaps the old cartridge's last pages instead of your first deadline. This listing is the B4500n's cartridge, the 43502301, at $26.81, and because a networked printer's usage is hard to predict day to day, ordering on that first warning sign is the habit that prevents the emergency run.

Does the B4500n use the same cartridge as the B4500?

It does. The trailing "n" marks the network version of the printer; the supply is identical — the 43502301 black cartridge, rated at up to 3,000 pages. It also fits the B4400, B4400n, B4550, B4550n, B4600 and B4600n, which is handy when several models share one supplies shelf.

How can I be certain I am reordering the exact same cartridge?

Match the number, not the memory: the cartridge that comes out of a B4500n is stamped 43502301, and any listing carrying that number — including this one — is the same supply. It takes seconds to check and it is the one step that makes wrong-cartridge orders essentially impossible.

What will I pay per page running this cartridge?

Around 0.89 cents per page at the rated 3,000-page yield and the $26.81 price. If your B4500n turns out to be a heavy user, the 5-pack of the same 43502301 brings that down to about 0.40 cents per page — a worthwhile step up once the printer's appetite is known.

Is this an OEM Okidata cartridge?

No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible built to the 43502301 specification, in the same yield class as the original, at a compatible price. Everything about the fit and the 3,000-page rating matches the B4500n's requirements; the brand on the box is ours, not Okidata's.

What happens if something is wrong with it?

The cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — see the shipping & returns page for how it works. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.
