Frequently Asked Questions

My B4500's prints have gone pale — will a new cartridge fix it?

If the paleness is even across the page and crept in gradually, it is the classic sign of a cartridge at the end of its toner. Try rocking the installed cartridge gently side to side first: if the darkness comes back briefly and fades again, the cartridge is spent and this replacement — the 43502301, rated at up to 3,000 pages — is the cure. Sudden streaks or repeating marks point elsewhere, but gradual fading is toner, almost every time.

Is this really the B4500's own cartridge?

Yes. The B4500 runs on the 43502301, and this listing is that cartridge under the printer's name. The same unit also powers the B4400, B4400n, B4500n, B4550, B4550n, B4600 and B4600n — worth knowing if a second Oki mono printer sits nearby, because one spare can cover both.

What does a page cost with this cartridge?

The cartridge is $26.81 and rated at up to 3,000 pages, so roughly 0.89 cents per page at standard coverage. That rating assumes light, even coverage on ordinary pages; bold forms and dense reports will land somewhat higher per page, plain correspondence somewhat lower.

Compatible or original — what am I actually buying?

A Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the 43502301 specification, not an OEM Okidata cartridge. It matches the original's fit and 3,000-page yield class at a fraction of the brand-name price, which is the whole point for a printer that works for a living.

How do I dispose of the old cartridge?

Seal the spent cartridge in the bag or box the new one came in so loose toner stays contained, then use any local electronics or office-supply recycling route. Toner cartridges should not go into general household trash where services offer collection, and keeping the old unit boxed also protects your hands and clothes during the swap.

What if the new cartridge disappoints?

It is backed by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — the details are on our shipping & returns page. Your cartridge ships from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.
