Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the box?

Four cartridges that refill the whole CM3530 at once: CE250A black, CE251A cyan, CE252A yellow and CE253A magenta, each one sealed separately. The set is priced at $125.76, and because the CM3530 is a multifunction machine, this one carton keeps its printing, copying and fax output all fed from the same row of toner.

Do copying and scanning drain these cartridges the same way printing does?

Copying uses toner exactly like printing — every copied page is a printed page. Scanning to email or a folder uses none at all. On a shared CM3530 the walk-up copying traffic is often what empties a cartridge sooner than the owners expect, which is why keeping the full set in the building matters.

What page counts should I expect?

The CE250A black carries a 5,000-page rating, while the CE251A, CE252A and CE253A colors are each rated at 7,000 pages. Incoming faxes and copied forms draw on the black constantly, so on this machine the black rating is usually the one reached first.

Someone keeps printing in color by accident. Does that waste the set?

It draws the color cartridges down faster, yes. Setting the driver default to grayscale for everyday work and reserving color for jobs that need it stretches the CE251A, CE252A and CE253A noticeably, while the pages that do print in color still get the full set working for them.

How do I check which cartridge is actually low?

The CM3530's control panel and its built-in web page both report levels per cartridge. Check there before swapping: a warning names the slot that is low, and the other three may have plenty left. Each cartridge in this set can be fitted on its own as its turn comes.

Is there anything to do after fitting a fresh set?

Print a supplies status page to confirm all four cartridges register, then run a calibration if colors look off-register on the first jobs. Beyond that, the set needs nothing — close the door and put the machine back to work.

About This CM3530 Four-Color Set

The Color LaserJet CM3530 sits at the center of many small offices: one machine printing the invoices, copying the contracts and receiving the faxes. This 504A set matches that workload — CE250A black rated at 5,000 pages for the text-and-fax stream, and CE251A cyan, CE252A yellow and CE253A magenta rated at 7,000 pages each for the color work layered on top.

The set is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. It ships from the nearest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, with delivery details on the shipping & returns page. Our team is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and more for this platform is catalogued under HP.
